Klezmatics

The Klezmatics play soul stirring roots music for the 21st Century, concocting "Klezmer" as only adventurous musicians in New York City would, in arrangements and compositions that combine Jewish identity and mysticism with outrageous history and new interpretations of the original traditions of Klezmer Brass Bands. Since 1986 the Klezmatics have celebrated the vivacious nature of Yiddish music, creating wild, spiritual, reflective, and danceable music. The vitality and joy of the Klezmatics' music has uplifted sold-out audiences around the world since their start fifteen years ago.

The lyrics of the Klezmatics' songs often confront controversial issues such as slavery, refugees, racism, religion, prejudices, sexual independence, and even marijuana use. We can all look forward to upcoming projects from the Klezmatics that promise variety, charm, excitment, emotion and unique style.
